Q: Will your course help me get a job in the industry? A: I can't guarantee employment. However, you will have a good basic knowledge after completing the Part I course. With the Part II you will have experience testing and identifying gems, using gemological equipment. Q: Will I be more knowledgeable when buying gems? A: Absolutely. You will not only know about gemstones, but will also know what man-made and enhanced gems are commonly available. You will know what questions to ask. Q: I travel and want to buy abroad, will your course help me? A: I always recommend that you check what we have here first. It is always fun to buy abroad so I recommend you don't pay more than you can afford to lose. That being said, I have had students contact me on their return, excited about their great buys. Q: Will I know how to tell a real gem from a fake? A: You will certainly learn some helpful characteristics to look for. However, some man-made stones are very sophisticated and would require gemological testing to identify. |
